How ms sql sum date

Last Modified: 2012-08-13
Hi All

I'm try to sum date data by using ms sql as following
   This code is OK
   select ot_userid,convert(datetime,ot_ttime) - convert(datetime,ot_ftime) as OT_Hours from ot_tbl

But when I'm try to sum group by user as following is not ok
   select ot_userid,sum(convert(datetime,ot_ttime) - convert(datetime,ot_ftime)) as OT_Hours from ot_tbl group by ot_userid

  Error as following

Server: Msg 409, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
The sum or average aggregate operation cannot take a datetime data type as an argument.

Please advise how to do.

Thank in advance.
