Found this while trying to fix the same problem with my Sony. &nbsp;Finally figured out what the solution really was and thought I'd add it here for they next poor soul. &nbsp;The problem is not that NUM LOCK is on; the problem is SCROLL LOCK is on! &nbsp; Just hit the key labeled SCR LK to toggle this off.<br />

I'd a sony vaio laptop, PCG-6L1L, when I try to type u, I get the number 4, i is for 5<br />
when I press the Fn then press the letter u, I get u typed.<br />
Can I restore everything back?<br />
