autochk.exe problem prohibits mouse and keyboard from working.
Dell Optiplex 320 with Windows XP Professional - SP2 is on it for sure- not sure of update status since that point. When booting a message pops up on a light blue screen as follows: "\Systemroot\Windows\Syste m32\autoch k.exe cannot be found - skipping AUTOCHECK"
The machine continues to boot to a login screen and waits for login.
The USB Keyboard and USB Mouse do not work. They do light up, but do not work. The keyboard does work if I go into setup.
I have set the bios settings to Factory Default- it does the same thing in Safe-Mode
I have slaved the drive and repalced autochk.exe
Mos tof the fixes I have found on the internet I cannot use because I cannot access the keyboard or mouse
Oh yea- there are no ps2 ports for these devices
