What's the best way to control user authentication and file sharing in Ubuntu server 8.10?

Hi there,

I'm installing a Linux server to control a windows network. My server has three disks. First one (/dev/sda) is Ubuntu server installation and the other two ar software raid 1 (/dev/md0) which I intend to have network users files and folders.

I formatted /dev/md0 as ntfs but i can easily change that for better support if needed.

My real problem is that I'm trying to get OpenLdap to work as a domain controller but it's giving me a lot of trouble. Is this the best way I'm I going in the right direction? Or is there a better offer?

Thanks in advance,
João Ribeiro
