SQL 2008 clustering needs windows server enterprise?

I want to enable the clustering in SQL 2008. The windows should be enterprise to support that?

But windows 2008 standard supports 2 nodes? Why can't use SQL 2008 enterprise in windows 2008 standard?  BTW,  SQL 2008 enterprise can be installed in windows 2008 standard?  As I remember, SQL 2005, 2000 enterprise cannot be installed in windows standard edition.

Then if just for installation, it is possible to install SQL 2008 enterprise to windows 2003 standard or 2008 standard edition ?
Yes this is possible. But you will not get a MS Cluster
