Hi,
what is your platform?
How did you check that FTP is installed?

If it's UNIX, please have a look at /etc/inetd.conf and search for ftp. Is it there? Is  perhaps something commented out?

Hi again,
please have a look at this tutorial -

http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Creating-Configuring-FTP.html

I am not a windows expert, but I guess the above document could help you.

Good luck!

thats a normal configuration

i already have installed it but for somereason i cant see it in IIS Manager
does 'sfc /scannow' report any problems?
how do you run that
<CMD> window or <start> -> <run> ...
perhaps 'sfc.exe  /scannow'

it says i have to be admin to run this but i am logged on as admin anyway
That's _very_ strange! No clue for this.
wmp

shall i re install it?

i will try that and let you know
is there any way i can install ftp without windows cd or any other client, the reason i want is one of the company ftp in to our server to pick some files up.

they can not right now as ftp is not installed or not working.

any freeware you know which i can use?
Yes, there are some good ftp servers around -
filezilla -
http://filezilla-project.org/
warftp (which I'm not familiar with) -
http://www.warftp.org/index.php?menu=344
There are much more. I'd suggest trying filezilla first.
Please come back if you don't like it for some reason.
