How Can I fix ThinkPad T42 Error 0200: Failure Dixed Disk 0.
When I boot the laptop, first "IBM ThinkPad" screen (saying "To interrumpt normal startup, press the blue access IBM button") shows up, then a few minutes later, a black (DOS like) screen) shows with the above error message. When I press F1, it goes to IBM BIOS Setup Utility. And, repeat back to the black screen. I have been trying to boot up from USB diskette drive or CD drive (to install Windows XP), but no success. The laptop basically doesn't do anything but showing the error screen and BIOS Setup Utility. In the StartUp --> Boot screen, IDE HDD0 is listed but not hard disk name -- BIOS seems not be recognizing the hard disk. Appreciate any help!
