Including effects in a recorded Action in Photoshop CS3

Is there a way to save effects when you record an action? I just recorder my first action and it included a glass effect and a warp, but when I played it I got a message saying that those effects were not available.  Is there a way to include things like that in an action?

Thanks!

Thanks, Sheharyaar

I want to try your solution, but for some reason the record action button is greyed out. Do you have any idea what I might have done to disable it?  How do I re-enable it.

Also what do you mean by "convert the image to a layer "? How do I do that?

Thanks.  Sorry about the unexpected wrench in the works.  I'll try rebooting to see if that re-enables the action buttons.

make sure that you have not highlighted the "Default Actions" folder
just select any individual action from the list and this should enable the record action button

when you open a flattened image, you can see only one layer in the Layer palette, called Background
double click on it and it should give you the option of converting it to a standard layer.
Thanks! Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. -John
