how to connect SAS drives.

I need to know the trick on how to connect SAS drives.  I have an Intel S5000VSA MB.  with SAS.  The SAS ports on the board and cables look just like SATA which is fine.  The HDD which is a Seagate Cheetah drive has the same SATA and power as a normal SATA drive except there is a bridge so the two connectors are 1.  So I can't plug in the traditional SATA/SAS cable.  So I am wondering is there an adapter that would allow me to plug the SAS drive directly into the motherboard and then power into the drive?  Just like a normal SATA drive.
