Office XP is not supported on Vista. I think actually it is out of support in general, so there probably will be very few future updates. You might consider a more advanced Office suite. There is nothing wrong with Office XP on Windows XP (it is a fine combination), but a bit legacy for Vista. ... T<br />

I forgot to mention that I have subsequently uninstalled Office XP but the font problem remains. The issue here is the font, not Office XP.

Did you try resetting the screen resolution? &nbsp;DPI and Screen Resolution do different things, so maybe your screen resolution got set too high. ... T<br />

I tried reducing it to 800 x 600 and every one in between. All I want Vista to do is go back to its default font size. This issue only affects editable fields. I can get all other text to change size. I have scanned Google and this website. It appears the only way to fix this is to reinstall Vista.

I found the solution for this was to copy the C:\Windows\Font directory from an unaffected Vista computer to this machine. I can only assume the installation of Office XP replaced some of the font files and this was the only way to get them back.
