Remote Web Workplace - File Transfer Option

We have a 2003 SBS server running Remote Web Workplace.  I am able to successfully log into the remote web workplace portal.  I can select a client computer and successfully log in.

However, if I select the option for file transfer, then I am not able to log into the workstation.  It looks like there is some permission needed to allow the file transfer option to work.

Please advise what changes that need to be make to RWW to allow the file transfer option between home computer and workstation at work.

Thanks!

I am curious how you added the workstations to the network.  IF you used http://servername/joincomputer then your permissions would be set correctly.  You may wish to try and remove from domain and re-add using this method, I experienced similar occurance and this solved my problem.

Vista? Trust the site and make sure your certificate, if self-issued, is imported into the trusted root certification authorities manually in IE.

This is an XP workstation.  I am not sure if //servername/connectcomputer was used on this machine.

However, I do not have a certificate.  I get a certificate error each time I log in, but just say continue to website.  Could this be the issue?  How do I self issue a certifcate and import it into the trusted root authority in IE?

Thanks.

That fixed it.  Do you know how to set the RWW portal to always have the file transfer option enabled, so users do not need to click that check box?
Since having that option opens a huge security loophole, it remains an option that users need to activate manually.
It is not a good practice to set things up to make things "easier" or more "convenient" for users. This translates into a huge threat surface area.

BTW, and this is huge:
If your files are not large, use the Companyweb!
Place the documents that need to be worked on remotely onto the Companyweb site. You can work on them internally AND externally without needing to transfer them via an open security hole.
Not only that, the bandwidth the file transfer mechanism uses is rather large.

Direct access to your Companyweb from the outside: https://yourrww.sbsdomain.com:444 will pop up an NTLM authentication box.

 That very long password right?
