how to recover deleted text messages from Nokia N73

Is it possible to recover all the text messages after restoring factory settings on a Nokia N73 phone Is there any software available to do that?

You should take a quick look at this link that would answer your question (even though it did not mentioned on that model but in general it apply to all cell phones)

Do check out the tools highlighted and there are open source but not of much use except maybe TULP 2G. Hence do focus on the commercial too such as PDA Seizure and etc

See useful extracts:

For Nokia phones, there is no mention of your model but do note that some of the Nokia 6610 models tested do not support Hard reset hence the testing is not applicable. But for Nokia 7610, no internal phone memory data is recovered was found. However, data populated onto the MMC card was found and reported.

[So do note the other possible 'leakages' as well. Hence unless it goes through the formal testing, it is not possible to recover directly upon hard reset (unless we can validate the claims).]

Other test findings iinclude:

On Blackberry, the following data was found after clearing the device through the desktop manager: PIM data (i.e., Address Book, Calendar), dialed/received phone calls and Internet Messaging data (i.e., subject/filename).

On Sony Ericsson A Hard Reset was performed by selecting, Master Reset in the settings menu. SMS messages and quicknotes were found in the memory dump file.

[Overall, it will not be conclusive as leakages are possible but challenges is also at the point of the recovery. For example the recovery chances are slim if the handset is reused and not sent to immediate acquisition as the memory will be tampered even further by the handset OS.]

Hope it helps..

Hi Manish,

No problem, just sharing other possibility as well. Nonetheless, I see that for all phone that should be backup of the PIM information (either from the phone or SIM) so that recovery (when needed) can be activated seamlessly. Do let me know if need more info.

Thanks
Hi breadtan,
Sounds interesting!!! Can you please give me more information on this?
Thanks
