I would like to know how to reinstall the 1394 adapter on a Windows XP operating system. I think the adapter is installed at the time of OS installation. Without having to reinstall XP how would I reinstall the 1394 adapter?

Is the only way of getting that 1394 adapter back would be to pull the network adapter out of the computer reboot allowing XP to notice that the Nic card is missing? Then replacing the Nic card into the computer allowing for the 1394 adapter to be reinstalled?
