Public Folder Replication

I have done virtually a full migration, and everything is working fine.
I still have both servers running, and for some reason System Folders aren't replicating, in particular the offline address book, this I presume represents the Global Address List.

When I go in via Outlook to Global Address List, the list is full of names from my old server which I have removed from the New One.

When I go into Public Folders on my Old Server there are 4 versions of the OAB...

Any suggestions? I am led to believe I only need 3 system folders, OAB, Schedule Free + Busy and Organization Forms (Which I couldn't Find)

Any Help Please?

There are four versions of the OAB because there have been 4 main versions of Outlook. Each version gets smaller. You need all four. Public Folders can be a pain to replicate - it does things on its own. You can go from nothing to everything replicated in a hour or less - particularly with system folders.

Ensure that replication schedule is set to always and that both servers are listed on the replication tab.

- If you check on the new server, under the public folder store, do you see an actual copy of the OAB folders?
- If so, are they listed with 0 items, or do they just not match?
- If the actual folder is on the new server, you should be fine, even if the items don't match. Simply because once you move the OAB generation role to the new server, you can just regenerate/rebuild the OAB, and it will update the local folder.

As far as the Free/Busy folder goes, you definitely need this one as well. This one is a little similar, if you have the actual folder on the new server, but not all of the data, the data can be brought back by users simply modifying their calendars. Obviously, the ideal situation is that the data actually replicates on it's own.

The organization forms folder only needs to be replicated if you actually use organizational forms.
These would be template emails, template docs, etc. that users can save to the forms library, which would then be accessible by other users. If you do not have a subfolder under organization forms on the original server, you won't need to replicate this.

So, the other scenario, if the actual folder objects have not even replicated, i would try one of two things:

1. In the system manager, make a change to the system folder objects under the public folders tree. Then do a "resend hierarchy" by right-clicking the public folders container.

2. If that doesn't work, there is a common scenario when system folders don't replicate, but regular folders do. This scenario involves the SMTP virtual servers, for each server not having enough permissions on the other side/server.
You can check this by going to properties of each server object, then security, then ensuring that Exchange domain servers has full rights on each server object, or at least each server object has full rights to the other server object. Then, ensure that each server is actually a member of the Exhange Domain Servers group.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys...

I have applied some of these changes, and now I have recieved some emails?

newserver-IS@domain.co.uk - Local Recipient does not exist - Status Request
newserver-IS@domain.co.uk - Local Recipient does not exist - Hierachy

The Free + Busy folder has come accross. I am just waiting for the Address Book.

I have had a look at the Offline Address book settings and it is still using my old server
An update please... I have completed the migration and the Public folders have come accross, everything has been fine for 2-3 weeks.

Is there anything else I can do to check everything before I un install Exchange on the old server.

I would hate to un install it and it fall over?
