I have a column in my table which is populated with the value CAB. There are some records where this field is null and in SQL Server Management Studio they are listed as NULL.

However, when I run a select statement to count the number of NULL values it returns 0. I can clearly see this is incorrect.

My SQL statement is;

SELECT     COUNT(*) AS Expr1
FROM         r_combined
WHERE     (NOT (DataSource = 'CAB'))
