caps and lower case inverted on the keyboard in windows
I'm running windows xp on a machine and i'm experiencing a problem where the caps and lower case inverted on the keyboard
when the caps lock light is lit, it's lowercase and when the caps lock light is off it's all caps
how do i get it back to normal???

Please try the following.
1)
Go to control panel > Accessibility options and make sure that the Sticky keys are not enabled.
2)
Make sure that you don't have a stuck Shift key.
3)
Reboot the computer, and unplug/replug the keyboard.
4)
Hold the right shift key down for eight seconds and the filter keys window will appear.
If youve already activated Filter Keys by accident, you can put a stop to the Filter Keys behavior by pressing both shift keys at the same time. Once you do that, keyboard operations will go back to normal.

Test this keyboard on another computer.
Get another keyboard and test on your computer.
If its the keyboard that's the problem from the testing then as suggested by two previous experts it's probably a sticky SHIFT key. Tap firmly repeatedly on both SHIFT keys and see if this frees them up. Also do this to the CTRL keys.

also try to restore your computer to an ealier date
