asked on

Admin and AD passwords no longer work. How would I access the server to reset the admin password?

I recently moved a test server from one location to another.
The Admin and AD passwords no longer work.
What would cause this and how can I gain access to the server so that I can reset the Admin password?  Thanks

dariusg and eggm4n:

1) I tried to log in with the cached AD account (no cable) - no luck
2) I know the ADMIN password and user name and those do not work either -

Next I followed both of your advice and burned the change password iso image onto a CD (not the iso file) and attempted to start the server from the CD.
After pushing  F12, I got a boot screen where I chose to boot off the CD ROM (#5). However, the CD was not recognized as the boot was off the hard drive. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks, that software is a great resource for solving this issue.

Solved the boot issue by burning ISO image on a PC instead of a MAC.
