Good Day

Experts:

I am using VB.net and am having trouble figuring out a logical way to verify a date is valid.
I will have a Start Date or an End Date or a Start and End Date.  With just the StartDate, If the CurrentDate is after it I need to throw up a valid flag else not valid.  Then check if it in between the StartDate and EndDate if both dates are present. Finally check if CurrentDate is greater than
EndDate then throw up a valid flag else not valid.

How would you all solve this?

Thanks,
