You can see how the report is by looking at the referenced URL.

The report prints out the record of a patient.  The report is coded so each page will show the total of just the page, not a running total of the whole report.

I thought I had the total working fine.  Turns out when you print the first page goes to 0, but the rest of the pages are fine.  Strange too, not always reproducable, is when switching through the pages it may get a little out of wack in the totals.  Also if I go to the printer setup and hit ok I see it turn the page 1 total to 0.  Here is the code below.  I would settle for a button that just prints instead of previewing the report first and then printing inside of it.  Of course resolving the root cause would be great.
Releavant Code:

Option Compare Database
Dim x As Double

Private Sub PageFooterSection_Print(Cancel As Integer, PrintCount As Integer)
  pagesum = RunSum - x
  balance = pagesum
x = RunSum
End Sub

Private Sub ReportHeader_Print(Cancel As Integer, PrintCount As Integer)
  x = 0
End Sub
