Wirless Home Network with DSL

Hello.  I have a desktop PC using Qwest DSL via an old ActionTec GT701 modem.  I just bought a Dell laptop with an internal wireless N card.  I'd like to setup a wireless network so both computers can access the internet and share files.  Would I be better off getting a new modem from Qwest that combines a modem and router or should I just buy a separate router and connect it to my existing modem?  Would one option provide better speed/connectivity over the other?  Thanks for your help.

My PC does not have a wireless card.
Forgot to mention that I'd like to keep my desktop PC wired if possible.

Both answers helped with my decision.  I decided to go with the router/modem combo from my ISP.  It supports N, has 4 ports, AND I like the idea of getting support/warranty from one source.  Thanks for your help.
