Password protected word doc not asking for password
I have a password protected document that is available across local intranet.
This document asks for a password when users open, only admins have this so opens read only for users. However a new admin is having problems. when she opens this document it doesn't ask for a password and will only open in read only. no use to this admin who has to make changes to the doc.
any help appreciated.

We had the same problem a while ago.... I'm trying to remember what we did to fix it.... it was our vacation calendar on the intranet....
Is the file also situate on your network? So the intranet link points to your network? Or is the document residing on your intranet server itself?
ASKER
Yes the user clicks on the link which opens in a folder they then click on the document.
ASKER
The document is on the org network not on the intranet web server.
