Is the file also situate on your network? &nbsp;So the intranet link points to your network? &nbsp;Or is the document residing on your intranet server itself?<br />

Yes the user clicks on the link which opens in a folder they then click on the document.

I have a password protected document that is available across local intranet.<br />
This document asks for a password when users open, only admins have this so opens read only for users. However a new &nbsp;admin is having problems. when she opens this document it doesn't ask for a password and will only open in read only. no use to this admin who has to make changes to the doc.<br />
