I am new to linux. I have some silly questions

1. In the bash terminal I wish to read file, as the file is big I wrote the command vi ¦ more
 but when I have gone exited the file without saving (:q!) then I get the message saying 3 files to edit.
 what does that mean.

mcc@ps-pa22:~$ vi ¦ more
3 files to edit

2. Next I mistakenly wrote command ls `

then I got > in new line.

I dont know what does that mean and how do we exit this file from this

Here is, what had happend

mcc@ps-pa22:~$ ls `
> ;
> '

3. Now when I wanted to read a file by using command vi ¦ more

then how do i go to next or previous page. I mean what keyboard button I should click

Thanks for your help
