Can I "sniff" traffic between a Microsoft SNA server and the mainframe?

I am trying to capture traffic between a SNA server and the mainframe. We are having a problem with dropping connections and need to capture the communication.

They are IP based connectivity. Can anyone give me some pointers.

I am using Wireshark and/or Observer. I have set filters in both for the MAC addresses and IP addresses.

Or if you want to go old school, find an old HUB and plug that in between the SNA and mainframe, then plug your laptop to the same hub, and then you can sniff everything that comes across.

I setup a span port on my core switch. I am now able to capture all the traffic. I have seen the dropped connections. Thanks for the input.
