windows xp pro bluescreen error 0x0000008E and SFC /Scannow errors
Hello,
I'm trouble shooting an XP Pro box that bluescreens on startup constantly with an 0x08E error.
I have tested the ram....ok.
I have uninstalled the video drivers....still the same bluescreen after reboot.
I have tried another video card with and without drivers...still the same bluescreen.
I have searched for the Backdoor.Rustock.B Rootkit...nothing found.
I then tried to run in safe mode in the command prompt: sft/ Scannow
I got the following error:
scanonce I get the same error message
0x0000006ba [The RPC server is unavailable]
To troubleshoot this error I have tried sfc /revert and it hasn't helped.
Are these two issues related?
Any suggestions on how to fix these problems?

Can you post the Minidump file which can be located in C:\Windows\Minidump folder. I am suspecting the problem with the OS if not then problem with the motherboard.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
I have actually been trouble shooting with the UBCD4Win.com Boot CD. I have found a few root kits and trojans that the locally installed virus software didn't detect.
Now i'm having trouble getting rid of a root kit that Super Anti Spyware has labled: "Rootkit.Unclassified/USBH ubB. The others have been erased.
I guess I now have to open a different post for this issue.
Thank you both for your suggestions.
