Simple question: Is it possible to use mod_deflate.c with swf files?

I've recently discovered the joys of mod_deflate for on the fly gzip compression in Apache. Wow, it really reduced my javascript load times. I enjoyed it so much, in fact, that I wanted to compress everything I could think of that might be heavy in file size. I've noticed significant time decreases in js, image files, html, and css.

Now, whats the biggest drain on my sites bandwidth? Flash documents! I tried adding .swf as an extension but it made no difference. So is this possible?

<IfModule mod_deflate.c>
                <FilesMatch "\.(js|css|php|html|jpg|swf)$">
                        SetOutputFilter DEFLATE
