We recently developed and installed an Access 2003 app on a users network. All of the user machines have Access 2007. We installed AppData.MDB on a common server. Each user has a copy of AppProc.MDB on their local machine that links to the tables in AppData.MDB on the server. When developed, both MDB's have default record locking specified as 'edited record' and default open mode as 'shared'.
We have used this installation architecture dozens of times but this is the first time our app is running in Acess 2007
A user was asking me a question about something that he had entered and was unable to change the contents of. He had the form on his screen with the 'troublesome' record shown. I noticed that there was a black circle with a line through the middle in the record selector of the record. I have never seen this before. What does it mean?
In general I am concerend about the record locking schemes that we specified in the Access 2003 app being carried through when the app is running on Access 2007.
