Hello,
I am trying to do a bare metal restore to a Proliant DL 585 via USB external HDD. The transfer rate is below 1Mb, which means 18 hr restore, which is unacceptable in this situation. I would like to know what is causing the slow speed, and how to fix it.

I have swapped software (Shadow Protect and BESR) and used different ext HDD's.
I have booted from a Linux USB key and copied from USB to USB, which stalled.

The server is well specced, and the SCSI HDD array is 4X300GB in a Raid 5, controlled by the hardware.

This same method on other hardware produces transfer rates of ~18M

Any suggestions would be great, thanks.
Chris.
