Word opens document with only title bar showing
I have a customer who is using Office 2003. When she attaches a Word document to an Outlook email message and opens the document from the attachment link (to be sure she attached the correct document), Word opens the document but only the title bar appears. When my customer maximizes the Word document, then the document appears in whole form.
Does anyone have a clue as to what to try to alleviate this problem? Run Office repair?

It should open in the last used position so try opening Word and close it maximized.

Tell your cutomer when they get just the title bar the resize the program via the corner. Drag it bigger.
All thats seem to have happened is the user has closed word with it being in a small size. If they reize the word window to fill 50% of the screen (or however they like to use word when restored down) next time they open they use word and its not maximised it will fill that old size.
You can recreate this problem yourself by opening word, making it maller by using restore down button, manually make the word window tiny so you only see title bar. Close word and next time you open it then it will be in the title bar only mode.
Resize it bigger and will be better now.
Hope this makes sense and helps out.

Thanks to all. The problem seems to stem from a corruption problem in Word. After following redrumkey's solution to clean up the system, the issue appears to be resolved.
