Bluetooth device keep disconnecting from Blackberry Curve

I have a Plantronics voyager 520 and a Blackberry Curve 8330 from Sprint.
When I have the bluetooth on and in my ear and the Curve is in my holster which is attached to my belt, every 10 minutes or so the bluetooth will just disconnect (it beeps in my ear) and then about 2 seconds later, it reconnects. However, when I am on a call, the bluetooth stays connected with no problems.
Distance is not an issue because the Curve is always in my holster attached to my belt.
And battery strength is not the issue because I always keep at least half full battery.
I first thought the problem was the bluetooth so i bought a second one (same make and model) and the problem still exists.
So then i tried my girlfriend's bluetooth with my blackberry (she has a motorola bluetooth) and it kept disconnecting.

Is the problem with the bluetooth "radio" that's built into the blackberry?

This is a common "heart beat" test the device doesn't to check to see if the attached bluetooth device is actually still active.

Check out www.blackberrycool.com  forums as they explain in more technical detail why this occurs.

So this disconnecting and reconnecting is normal?

Can you post a link from the blackberrycool.com site that explains this further. I couldn't find anything.
What version OS do you have on your BB?

There are issues with the bluetooth stack on the RIM OS's from 4.2.1 and up. The bluetooth will randomly disconnect. Depending on the application and bluetooth device being used you may have to remove the battery from the BB in order to get bluetooth connectivity back. This is fixed OS 4.5. It wasn't an issue in 4.2.0.

Im searching for your link...
If you OS version is not 4.5, please let me suggest you upgrade it. Please note I suggest you back your device via Desktop Manager before you proceed:

Upgrade Link:

On the bb device, go to options > bluetooth, then select the blutooth device, click on menu button and go under device properties. What setting are set, is yes set to the "trusted" setting?

Yes, the trusted setting is set to yes.

Also, the OS version is 4.3.0.127.  I went to Options/About to find this. How do I go about upgrading the OS on my blackberry?
You need to find via your carrier website the latest os for your model. You will need to install desktop manager from RIM's website its free, version 4.7 is latest. Once you download the os from the carrier website, you will use desktop manager to install the app. The carrier website will have the step by step directions.
Go to this link, and follow the prompts. Rim has made this very Easy!
