VB script to count folders while offline or count folders in a PST
I received a great answer from BlueDevilFan to my previous folder count Q at
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/24029627/Need-script-to-give-name-and-count-of-email-in-all-outlook-folders-to-a-text-file.html
Since I am doing recovery from PST files, and comparing the folder sizes, I am working in offline mode, so that the production mail is not affected while I import and count various PST files.
I need the same solution that will work Offline in 2003, or a way to open a PST file , import it, and not have it affect the production mail and do the count
Now I get an error when offline after it has counted the regular folders and reaches Public folders.
Sine I am using a blank IMAP account to import the PST files, it never reaches the imported PST mail. Another option may be to skip the public folder count.
Thanks in advance !

Ok I am testing, and it apparently depends on how you do the import.
If you import into your mail folder,, then it will be imported into the exchange Server data.
You need to do it to a personal folder, and that is what I am now testing.

I will need to test this in a test environment since there is still concern that this may mess up some production users - who would not be happy....
I'll get back in a few more days
Thanks !
