Need to Build a small wireless network 1 mile apart.

hi my uncle and I are doing a  joint payment on a highspeed internet connection from our local ISP..(ADSL).Its a 2 user connection but the only thing is that we live about half a mile apart but have a clear line of sight. If i go on my rooftop I can be able to see his house basically without any obstructions.I was hoping if you guys could tell me what good wireless equipment I would need to get to join these two links together.I already ordered a wireless router which i think has removable antennas so I might be able to connect a directional anttenna to it.I would like to know what antennas,male/females adapters types and accessories to make this connection successful...Thank you.
The wireless router I am considering is this 1

Any other great linksys wireless router that you recommend would be greatly appreciated.

well to get that kind of distance you would need a wireless-N router which should be mounted outside where it wouldn't be affected by weather, and also a wireless-N range extender on your end

well i don't understand what you mean by mounting the wireless router outside 0791.... and don't quite understand why i need a range extender on my end either when initially the dsl modem and wireless connection starts at my uncles house...i am the 1 receiving the wireless signal.and in this case i don't think i would need wireless n either.i think i would start with b/g and in the future spend on wireless n products.....
wireless N has a longer range with b/g, it doesn't just effect speed, and you need an extender to amplify the signal because IF you can reach your house from your uncles, i know it wont go through the walls, so you would need something to receive the signal outside, and then amplify it so that your computer can receive it, i might be using the wrong word when i say range extender...
Ok I now understand you.But i am willing to mount omni/antennas outside on rooftops. So i would bypass the obstructions i would get with walls etc....But my problem is what antennas, connectors adapters would i need to get...I just wanted a recommendation on a good setup. It is just for the 2 of us to share.I already have a wireless router from linksys in my cart...So all I need is a good directional antenna to connect to the wireless router's connectors at the rear.I am going to buy the Linksys-Cisco WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router details can be found here http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-Cisco-WRT54GL-Wireless-G-Broadband-Compatible/dp/B000BTL0OA/ref=cm_pdp_rev_itm_title_1   ....I did some research on it and I believe the antennas at the rear can be removed and u can use an external antenna on it.My problems is figuring out what type of connectors it uses and to make sure my equipment matches up.Any recommendations?

this will connect directly to where the antenna will be on your router, just unscrew it and screw this on, and then run the antenna outside

You could try setting up a WDS network with multiple N routers to help bridge the distance.  The reason I suggest N and not A/B/G routers s that everytime you bridge a WDS signal it is reduced by about half between the routers.  Three router should help you maybe.

THE BIG BUT!! you need somewhere in the middle to house one of your WDS units.
Please explain what is a WDS network..thank you
