is IE 7.0.5730.13 the latest? will new version or re-install get me a new OE?
I had some malware issues about 3 weeks ago. Combofix got all of it, but left a couple error messages about my sound system.
I'm noticing a couple issues with OE and IE.
Is there a newer version of IE than 7.0.5730.13........?
If I downloaded the newer version would I get a fresh copy of OE?
Or would the files just be replaced with newer ones and if any of my files are corrupt they would not leave my system?
I notice than in my program list, IE 7.0 can not be removed without doing it manually. I can see why Mr. Gates would not want us to be able to easily remove it.
Should I remove my IE to get a fresh copy of the same version I have?
Will this get me a fresh copy of OE?
What about all my e-mails, should I re-install IE or get a fresh copy?
Is IE 7.0 part of my XP?

nickg5,
To fix the OE problem, I suggest installing Windows Live Mail, the new version of OE
http://download.live.com/wlmail
When installing Windows Live Mail, emails and contacts should transfer from OE. If not, you can import the emails and contacts from File > Import wizard.
