blade switch

Hi,I have a Dell blade chassis with powerconnect 5316 switches connect on a cisco catalyst (core switch). I want to configure three vlans on the dell switches in order to route traffic through three  different ip's. These specific vlans are already configured on the cisco switch.
What do I have to do in order for this configuration to work except the vlan creation on the dell switches? Do I have to trunk the port connected to the catalyst?

what happened if I dont enable gvrp on cisco switch and leave it with the vtp. Are the vlans gonna work??
I believe that if you manually define the VLAN's on the Dell switch it will work.  What VTP does, if I understand it correctly, is allow a VTP client get VLAN definitions from a VTP server.
