I have one cluster in vmware containing number of ESX server 3.5 U3, all of them have access to the same SAN and LUNs, I want to install one more ESX server and join it to the vmware cluster. but this server will be in different location having a fiber connection to the network. and it will NOT be connected to the SAN. will it be posible to migrate Virtual servers from the old setup from the SAN to that server on the local storage using storage vmotion??????<br />

I am doing this setup to make a Temprary Business Continuity Solution till finalizing our DR and BC strategies, and implimentation.

ESX Migration

VMware, a software company founded in 1998,  was one of the first commercially successful companies to offer x86 virtualization. The storage company EMC purchased VMware in 1994. Dell Technologies acquired EMC in 2016. VMware’s parent company is now Dell Technologies.

VMware has many software products that run on desktops, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS, which allows the virtualizing of the x86 architecture.  Its enterprise software hypervisor for servers, VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi), is a bare-metal hypervisor that runs directly on the server hardware and does not require an additional underlying operating system.
