Windows Update error 8007007A
Fujitsu Laptop has an icon in the taskbar that indicates "WIndows cannot check for updates".
When we do an update we get the following:
First it says we must install update software, when say ok then it acts like it is installing then we get the following error: Windows could not search for updates, error 8007007a.
ANy thoughts?

i am running 32 bit. and that worked! thank you! but the only thing is what happens if it doesn't work again?
It shouldn't happen again as it was proabably just a glitch in the windows update agent that was cleared up by re-installing it. If you do continue to have this issue then we would need to look at what is causing the problem. If it does happen again in the future and you want to try to install the latest windows update agent just go to http://support.microsoft.com and type "latest windows update agent" in the search bar and you will find it.

i tried installing the latest windows update agent on microsoft.com but it wouldn't let me install it. it said that windows update was already installed
Are you using Vista or XP?
The next thing I would try is to download the latest Service Pack (SP3 for XP and SP1 for Vista) and install it manually if it is not already installed. You can check if it is by going to Start Menu and right-clicking on Computer or My Computer and selecting properties from the menu. In the windows somewhere it will say what Operating System is installed and whether a Service Pack is installed.
