I ended up using the following for my testing and will work on an on/off switch later.<br />

Can I ask why exactly do you want to switch it on and off during development? Is it for debugging purpose? If yes, even ajax postbacks can be debugged .. <br />

I am using Microsoft Ajax, the script manager, updatepanel and progress panel. During development, i would love to be able to switch it on and off while im testing stuff.<br />

What is the easiest way? (A button i can place at the bottom of the page would be great.)<br />
