Office 2003 slow to open and save files on the network

My users are using office 2003 on Vista Ultimate PCs.  Their files are on a Dell PowerEdge Server running Server 2008.  Word files open instantly but it takes 30 seconds to open Excel files and in some cases it takes up to 2 minutes to save changes to word documents.

This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

I had tried removing SAV from the work station but not the server.  As soon as I diabled realtime protection on the server the problem went away.  Kind of a Duh! on my part.  Thanks.
