Hello, we got this frustrating problem with a HP EVA3000 storage controller having a HP Proliant DL360 G3 as a management server running Windows 2000 server.
The problem is that the former EVA administrator has left the company and the Windows 2000 server admin password was not documented so I can not log in to this server to run the management software in order to troubleshoot awkward EVA behavior.
I did try to boot from an "Offline NT password recovery disk" which has worked fine in the past to reset Windows admin passwords but in this case it could not detect any windows partitions for password reset.
I was wondering if it could be that it could not read the disks but the drivers for "Smart Array 5i controller" did seem to be included and it did not complain that it could not read the disk either.
So I do not know whether it is a driver issue that prevents the recovery disk from doing its job or whether it is a non-standard Win2000 server installation as I do not know much about EVA Management server practices.
All suggestions in how to reset the admin password are appreciated as this is starting to become a high priority problem so thanks in advance!
