Outlook 2003 Status Hangs "preparing outlook for the first time"

Outlook 2003 linked to exchange and it hangs on setting up outlook in cached mode. Its works ok if i turn off cached mode but i share this mailbox out so i need it to work on cached mode.

Any ideas ?

this beacuse of the mailbox size , i think it's large size mailbox so you think it's a hang but it's a delay try to create the profile again and give some time and be ssure that's enough space on the c: drive

how big is the mailbox, what speed is the connection between server and client?
and how long did you wait before declared it hanging?

HI i have checked size remaining and there more that enough for mailbox and i have left it overnight and the progress bar does not move.

Can you first create the account without cached mode, and then you turn it on afterwards.
See if that makes a difference
