how i can block google earth using Blue Coat Proxy SG510 Series?
do you have access to the web-based management interface?

Launch the Management Console. Go into the Configuration tab. Click on Policy > Visual Policy Manager (VPM) > Launch
Add a Web Access Layer within the VPM. You can name it Blockgoogleearth, or something that is descriptive for you and your organization.
Create a new rule within that newly created layer. The source is equal to Any. Right click on Destination and click on "set". Click on "New" > "Destination Host/Port" Enter earth.google.com and you can use "Exact Match" or "Contains" for how to match the name. Click OK several times. Service = any, time = any, Action = Deny, Track = none.
Click on the Install policy to install the newly created policy
NOTE: You may want to test this policy prior to rolling it out corporate wide. Googleearth will give the following warning after chatenabled.mail.google.com has been denied:

"Your internet connection is experiencing problems or your network administrator has blocked google earth."

it bloch the url in the IE but it;s not block the google earth installed applications on pc's
you will have to find out what web address googleearth application uses and use the instructions above to create another rule.

but if you stop  google earth  they will simply goto Microsoft's virtual world or another one.
is it a real problem letting people use google earth?
