issue is with drive, perform power cycle ( remove all cables and connections to host along with terminator) and then turn it back on to make sure library comes up fine other wise use diagnostic tools from quantum to confirm the issue with drive, i suspect this issue is with tape drive not working properly.<br />

contact quantum and they will help you replace the tape drive after confirming.

Sorry for the late response. &nbsp;Though you can purchase a new Scalar 24 library with two LTO-4 drives, older Scalar 24 libraries will only support LTO-3 drives. &nbsp;My Scalar 24 is from ADIC before the company was aquired by Quantum.
