Have you tried Filemon from Sysinternals, to see if you can include the documents folder (either &quot;Userid's documents&quot;, or &quot;My Documents&quot;, try both). <br />

Or use Regmon to try and see what proces is querying the folowing registry key/value.....<br />

Hi, If my documents is a shortcut then either remove it and then goto control panel, display, desktop, customize desktop and be sure that my documents is selected to show on the desktop and click ok.<br />
<br />
You can also right click on the my documents shortcut (if you have one somewhere) and click on the shortcut key and remove it. &nbsp;<br />

We have sifted through the Registry, we have used sysinternals tools to attempt to locate parent processes, we have installed service pack 2 and 3.<br />
