With whose credentials are you logged in?  Do you have administrative rights on this system?  It sounds as though the user with which you are trying to change the description is a limited user and not an administrative one. Enable auditing on/for this system through GPO including failed access and you should see where/what is blocking this adjustment.

Yes that is correct the user is just a power user and that is the way it should remain.  Does a user need to and Admini to just change the Computer Discription?

I think so.  A power user can install software and manage local users , not sure they can change desciption or computer name.  You could grant this right to the power users if you really need to. Would each user that logs into the workstation with Power User need/want to change the description for the workstation?
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Heres the thing this GPO is for about give or take 350 pc where the end user doesnt have to put in a usr name and password... because in the past they ended  up locking the account if they mistype the password and this would create a big mess because that meant the account was locked for all other pcs&
So I created this GPO that uses auto login  restricts the user from a bunch of stuff like the Run command or mapping to a network drive, this way all the user has to do is turn on the pc and no need for their input at login .
The description is done because the application based on this names knows what to execute, so I guess the only time when there is a computer description change is only where the pc gets moved.
I guess what Im going to do is add the user as an Admin to the box , make changes and then back to power user

Ussing an Admin on the local PC was used and that worked how do I go about requesting a Rfund on a question?
