Website monitoring service
I work for a small business and we need a service that can monitor our websites for outages. We have had software that would notify us, but that didn't work out as well as hoped. We are looking for something that will cost $20 or less a month and will physically call our duty phone.
I would like to hear comparisons from people that have actually used services like this and some tips for what features are needed and what is not. I am new to the company and I am looking for expert opinions from people who have actually used these types of services.
If more detail is needed please let me know.

Yes that looks like what I was wanting. I was looking at http://www.websitepulse.com/, but there so many out there I could be buying something that a freshman in college put together and will never be supported again.
I am half of our IT department and we just do not have the resources to do everyting all the time. Thanks for the quick response.

Let me be more elaborate, I use the free services at http://mon.itor.us
They provide alerts if services do not appear... for example we have a web site at port 8080 and I have the monitor pointed there. You can set up multiple email addresses for notification and you get a periodic notification of your site versus benchmark sites.
Overall, no complains.

Thank you all for your input. All of the suggestions looked like good choices. I will split points appropriately.
