SQL Server 2005: Unable to start sqlserveragent - access denied

When I try to start the sqlserveragent through management studio, I get a message saying "unable to start service sqlserveragent...Access Denied (Object Explorer)".

Running on Vista Home Premium.

Any help to fix this?

Thanks

I tried starting the service from the command line, which I opened with "run as administrator". I got the following message this time: "System error 1069 has occurred. The service did not start due to a logon failure."
I checked the services console in administrative tools in the control panel. The startup type was set to manual for the service, and the log on set to my username. I tried to start it from here and I got the same error message about a logon failure.

Right click on SQLSERVERAGENT in services.

Click the Logon tab and give administrative privileges.
Try starting the service now.
ok I went to properties in the services console and checked the logon tab. I entered my password into the password field. Now it works. So that will be an issue any time I change my windows password I guess, which seems a bit stupid.

peterdungan,
This is not fair.. I told you the solution but points awarded for Brandon.
Actually rrjegan, you said to give it administrative privileges.  In all actuality, the login did have the privileges but the password was changed.  I explained how to prevent this from happening in the future.
Initially I closed the question, and gave rrjegan17 100 points, and marked my last comment as the answer.
Then I saw the new post by BrandonGalderisi under mine and marked that as the answer instead. I was intending to still mark the comment by rrjegan as an assist for 100 points, but I could not see an option on the page to do.
As explained above, BrandonGalderisi's comment explained the cause of the problem. rrjegan17's post did not solve the problem - I saw it after I had fixed it - but it would have pointed me in the right direction  since he suggested going to the logon tab etc, so I thought it could get an assist.

Ok that's how I see the matter. Hope this helps sort it out.
No probs..

If you still feel that rrjegan deserves partial points for this, you can always "request attention" using the link in your original post and ask that it be re-opened to split points giving rrjegan 100 points (or whatever you choose) as you intended to.
