New spin on old question regarding Cash Drawers

I have seen several wonderful solutions for opening a cash drawer connected to a parallel printer port here on EE and have used their solutions.  However, I have a slightly more complicated problem that I need your help with.  I am running my application on a server (within a workgroup network) and my users are connecting to the server via Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Connection).  One of the remote computers has a cash drawer connected to it via a receipt printer.  I am trying to get my server-based application to open the cash drawer.  It is not yet working.  I have shared the printer and made it my default but that hasn't helped.  Any ideas on how to send a command to a parallel port on another computer?  Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't believe there would be any difference; it would be just a matter of finding the right printer (the one on the client side).  What is the server OS?  and is Citrix involved or no?

I figured it out!  I re-added the printer - using a Generic Text driver - and mapped the LPT port from the other computer.  And it worked.  I will close the question out now.  Thanks for your help!
