Linkssy RV042 with VPN Client not working

Installed an RV042 in October.  All was well until about 2 weeks ago.  VPN clients do not complete the conection.  The router shows link is establish but the user gets the popup with the standard erros of wrong password, IP, ext.  If I disable the routers firewall it works.  I have the current firmware and client software.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

any settings change in the router, such as IPSEC passthrough?

does the  same issue happen on a pc that never had the client installed ( a clean install of the software)

It might be a firmware issue on the router. You could try to reflash the firmware
(there is always some risk with this)

As a last resort, you might try backing up the config to a file if it allows you, wiping out the vpn settings and creating a new vpn connection.

It doesn't sound like a malware issue on the remote clients, as you stated none of them can connect.

Thank you for your comments.  Nothing was changed in the router until this weekend when I spent more hours than I care to think about trying to figure out what is going on.  I tested one computer that was working and configured two new ones all with the same results.  I did delete all the user accounts and recreated them figuring something there might of been damage to no avail.  I plan to reflash the firmware but I wanted to be onsite to do that.  I was hoping there was a rule or check box I might have missed.  Of course that would not explain it working correctly for about 3 months.  My original thought was it was on the client end and cause by a windows update.
that is why I suggested installing the client on a "clean" machine that never had the client, perhaps a machine not as currently patched. Even try a quick vminstall of windows. I rarely work at home on a physical pc, use vmware for everything. Rarely have issues. Have live exchange servers running on vm's also.

If still no luck with this avenue, then if no configuration has changed in the router, reflash the firmware. This is your last resort, unless you want to try creating another vpntunnel group (if it allows you to do that) and try connecting. If not, backup the config, blow it away and retry

glad to hear that. It was an option I suggested as a last resort, but sometimes you have to take the chance

cheers!
