"Interface" for DTSing tables

I might have to post this in .Net section but trying here first.

I want to DTS 2 tables from one database to another. I can schedule a DTS package or even do it manually but, another department wants to test the app and use the DTS.

I dont want to schedule the package as I dont know when they'll be testing. I want to give them a windows app with ONE button to press and DTS the tables.

Anyway to do this? can I call a DTS package using a stored proc? if so, then I can just call the stored proc from code...

    Accepted Solution

You can certainly call a DTS package from .NET see here:

However for such a simple task, you do not need DTS to do this.

Yes, that would certainly be simpler than calling a DTS package.
