What is GUID in PXE boot ?

While booting using PXE I am seeing this information on the console, Can I get the explanation what does GUID stand here ?

CLIENT MAC ADDR: 08 00 27 70 CD 07      GUID: 8620E7F3-1596-489D-A516-747E9F552879

A Globally Unique Identifier or GUID is a special type of identifier used in software applications in order to provide a reference number which is unique. This is how the PXE boot finds the server or how the server find the computer for the PXE boot.

If you have access the a Windows DHCP server you can see the GUID listed to the far right of the screen on the lease tab.
