£ being displayed as ?

Recently moved an aging OSCommerce site to a different host and now the £ symbol within the product pages is being displayed as ? (in Firefox).

The PHP version has remained the same across the servers however the MySQL version has changed from v4 to v5 - and I'm guessing this is where the problem lies.

Has anyone else had this problem before ?

Thanks

It probably has something to do with the charset not matching up between your database and your html page.
The easiest way to fix this is to use £

I had this problem with the euro symbol in the database being a ?

try running the following query against the database:

UPDATE currencies SET symbol_left = '£' WHERE code = 'GBP'

this should work hopefully!
